Food Matters to Our Health

Food matters to how you feel, how much energy you have and how you cope with illness, should it appear in your life.

Are you looking for healing foods, alternative treatments for cancer, heart disease or diabetes? Or do you want to be proactive and avoid such diseases?

The search for alternative treatments begins.

When his father became seriously ill, James Colquhuon and his partner, Laurentine ten Bosch, scoured the  world looking for health alternatives to convince him that recovery was possible without the prescription drug dependency that seemed to be making him worse.

They filmed interviews with leading nutritionists, medical professionals and investigative journalists such as Christine Northrup, David Wolfe, Jon Gabriel, Joel Fuhrman and Charlotte Gerson, to name a  few, then produced these findings as a film, 'Food Matters'. I love the clever play on words in this title, don't you?

That film was followed by a series of DVDs and books as well as  their second film, 'Hungry for Change'.

Their discoveries are in line with their original hypotheses, that food matters and does, indeed, have an enormous role in keeping us well.

Once he had followed suggested strategies, James' father, Roy, recovered brilliantly, lost weight and has remained fit and energetic.

Secrets of longevity

But now those endeavours have been progressed even further and condensed into a brilliant series of weekly documentaries, just for you!

Do you love a good documentary that you can replay as often as you like?

Now James and Laurentine and their team can stream hundreds of new, health related documentaries right into your inbox every week! In addition, there are fabulous recipes, yoga classes, interviews with experts in their field and other health related inspiration!

You're going to love it!

We have all heard the saying, 'You are what you eat'.

Whatever food you put into your mouth either nourishes you or makes you ill.

It either keeps you healthy, trim and energetic or fat and lethargic - or somewhere in between!

James and Laurentine and their many colleagues believe that the secrets of longevity have their roots in lifestyles that begin in childhood.

But, they say, it's never too late to take steps to be well nourished, to avoid debilitating stresses in our lives and to exercise our bodies so they will continue to be strong and full of vigour.

Tune in and see what you can learn!

Food as medicine? Healing foods? Which foods?

James and Laurentine, with the team that they have assembled to assist in their quest, hope that the combined research findings of a variety of 'alternative' practitioners and writers will help you to improve your health and that of your family.

Take your health and that of your family, into your own hands and join them on this voyage of discovery.

Then there is  the Mastery programme, where 36 health topics are tackled by 36 different practitioners, who provide suggestions and recipes to assist you to improve your health as well as having access to them in the forums.

Is organic better?

If lack of contamination from pesticides, fungicides, herbicides and artificial fertilisers in the food you eat sounds appealing then the answer to that question must be a resounding "Yes".

If you are a syndicated 'corporate farmer' then you will be shouting, "No!" as organic methods of farming will probably interfere with your profits, and that is understandable.

At least we know that we do have a choice and that there is no need to eat mass produced supermarket offerings, that were grown in soil depleted of nutrients then sprayed with chemicals, to produce what almost seems like artificial food.

High nutrition food matters - 'crowding out' the bad stuff.

It is obvious that we, at Tropical Superfoods, would be in general accord with the premise of eating natural foods, many of which have been replaced on supermarket shelves by manufactured substances, purporting to be food.

Several of the health experts featured in the Health Matters documentaries advise slowly changing eating habits, buying more of the food that is high in nutrients, such as fresh vegetables, so that 'crowding out' of the foods which are depleted of nutrients, occurs.

This is a great strategy if weight loss is also your aim.
